WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – The Wilmington Police Department (WPD) has made two arrests in a shooting at an apartment complex last week.
According to WPD, Sabrina Tindall, 39, and a 17-year-old were arrested after a suspect vehicle connected to the shooting was stopped in Jacksonville.
WPD detectives traveled to Jacksonville and found additional evidence related to the investigation after searching the vehicle, officials say.
The teen was charged with:
- Two Counts of Discharging a Firearm into an Occupied Vehicle
- Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill
- Possession of a Handgun by a Minor
- Discharging a Firearm within City Limits
- Damage to Real Property
Tindall was charged with Felony Accessory After the Fact.
Officers responded to Starway Village on Conley Drive shortly after 3:30 p.m. on May 5 following reports of gunfire. WPD said two people reportedly exchanged gunfire in the parking lot and then left before the arrival of officers.
No one was hurt, but a parked car was struck in the crossfire.
The teen is being held at the New Hanover County Department of Juvenile Justice under no bond, and Tindall is being held under a $5,000 secured bond.
The investigation is ongoing.
