BOLIVIA, N.C. (WECT) – A woods fire that broke out Saturday afternoon in Bolivia has been cleared with no injuries reported.

The fire started around 3 p.m. off Carteret Road. Bolivia Fire Department was responding to another brush fire when the woods fire broke out, according to officials.

Fire departments from Winnabow, Boiling Spring Lakes and Supply provided backup assistance. The fire was cleared late Saturday night.

The blaze occurred as much of the Cape Fear area remains under drought conditions, which could have contributed to the fire’s development.
