ORANGE COUNTY, N.C. (WRAL) – The Burlington woman accused of aiding a convicted murderer during his escape in Orange County appeared in court Monday.

Jacobia Crisp, 32, is facing felony charges of aiding and abetting a fugitive and harboring an escapee.

If convicted of the aiding and abetting charge, Crisp could serve three years and three months in prison.

If convicted of the harboring charge, Crisp could serve two years in prison.

It’s unclear if those charges would run concurrently or separately if Crisp is convicted of both.

Crisp is accused of helping convicted murderer Ramone Alston escape on Aug. 13 in Orange County. He was captured and she was arrested on Friday. Authorities have not said how they linked the two, only that they had developed a relationship while Alston was serving a life sentence for murder.
