WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – The first Sheetz in Wilmington is set to open on Tuesday, July 30, according to a press release.

Per the announcement, the 2517 Shipyard Blvd. location will open to the public at 8 a.m., and free soda and self-serve coffee will be offered all day to celebrate the grand opening.

“In recognition of this first-ever opening in the city of Wilmington, Sheetz will host a grand opening celebration for local residents. The grand opening festivities will begin outside the store at 9 a.m. with multiple prizes awarded, including a grand prize giveaway of free Sheetz for a Year.* The store’s official ribbon-cutting ceremony is set for 10:45 a.m.” the announcement states.

The grand prize will be in the form of a $2,500 gift card. Entrants must be present to win and be over the age of 18.

Further celebrating the store’s opening, Sheetz will donate $2,500 each to the Plastic Ocean Project, Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina and Special Olympics North Carolina.

“As a reminder, customers attending the grand opening are encouraged to donate a non-perishable food item to the food bank. Those who donate will receive a Sheetz branded item, limit one per customer while supplies last from 9-11 a.m.” the release adds.
