WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – For the fourth time in its 53-year-history, the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra is searching for a music director, according to a Monday, July 29, announcement.
Per the release, the opening follows Dr. Steven Errante’s decision to step into the role of Conductor Emeritus. Errante had led the orchestra for 39 years.
“After Dr. Steven Errante’s 39-year transformative leadership and dedication, the Wilmington Symphony is embarking on a search to find an exceptional successor who will build upon its legacy, challenge boundaries, and propel the orchestra to even greater heights,” the announcement states.” This search marks a significant chapter in the Symphony’s history as it seeks an individual with visionary artistry, strong leadership, and an unshakable commitment to nurturing the vibrant arts community of Wilmington and the Cape Fear Region.”
