WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Coastal Horizons on Aug. 12 announced details regarding the relocation of its Wilmington Health Access for Teens (WHAT) office to a bigger facility at 1414 and 1404 Medical Center Drive.
WHAT will officially open at the new location on Monday, Aug. 19.
“We are thrilled to see Wilmington Health Access for Teens move into a new space that reflects the growth and success of the program. This move not only represents our commitment to serving the youth in our community but also ensures that we can continue to meet the increasing demand for our services,” said Coastal Horizons President and CEO Margaret Weller-Stargell in a press release.
Coastal Horizons says that WHAT served 2,021 different patients in the last fiscal year, and that the new location will allow the nonprofit to meet increasing demand.
“Our new facility on Medical Center Drive will allow us to expand our integrated services and enhance the quality of care we provide to our patients. With over 13,000 visits last year, this new space will support our mission to serve even more youth and young adults in the region. We look forward to welcoming our patients to our new home,” WHAT Program Director Amanda Ronne said.
WHAT’s office is currently located at 4005 Oleander Drive, offering school-based and linked health centers providing primary care, mental health care, psychiatric care and preventative services to people ages six through 24.
