Mason Jar Lager Company: A Taste of Southern Hospitality
The Mason Jar Lager Company opened in 2017, dedicating its focus on brewing time-intensive, technically-sound lagers. From the start, the brew team wanted to create the cleanest, most drinkable lagers they could possibly make.
At the time of inception, few breweries in the state that had more than one lager offering, and people thought Mason Jar was a bit crazy for focusing solely on such a time-consuming type of beer while most of the market was producing and selling hop-forward ales, like IPAs. But, Mason Jar had a plan to bring a wide variety of crisp, flavorful lagers to a craft beer community where quality lighter beers were difficult to find. Since then, they have produced dozens of different lager styles, from their light and bready Happy Place Golden Lager to the deep, rich, Moonlight Excursion Baltic Porter and nearly every shade between.
Mason Jar beers are offered statewide in cans and on draft as well as Mason Jar’s tap room and two restaurants. And as the beer world begins to accept and appreciate the delicacies of lager beers, Mason Jar is well prepared to refresh palates and acclimate all imbibers to the lighter side of life.
To celebrate the cold-fermented goodness of Mason Jar beers as well as Cape Fear Craft Beer Week, Fermental welcomes brewery representatives for an evening dedicated to their beloved craft. Featuring a variety of beers on draught throughout the evening, including limited releases and everyday favorites showcased alongside live music from two performers: Roger Davis and The Sean Meade Jazz Trio and fresh food options from WilmyWoodie Pizza Truck.
