ANDERSON, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office said it is investigating a stabbing that took place Tuesday morning.
Deputies said a victim called 911 shortly after 7 a.m. to report being stabbed at a residence on Cobbs Way.
Investigators found the victim inside the house, bleeding from her neck. They also detained the suspect, the victim’s son identified as 40-year-old Robert Torres.
According to arrest warrants, Torres used a serrated kitchen knife to cut his mother’s throat, inflicting great bodily harm.
The victim was transported to the hospital where she underwent surgery and is in stable condition.
Torres was charged with attempted murder been booked into the Anderson County Detention Center. He was given a $25,000 bond during a hearing Tuesday afternoon.
