WALLACE, N.C. (WECT) – First responders in Wallace recently came to the rescue of a cat that found itself trapped in a storm drain, according to the town’s police department.

Per the Wallace PD, firefighters and police responded to the parking lot of Walmart.

“We aren’t even kitten with you. After an initial assessment, we paws-ed briefly to formulate a plan, but knew we had to nip this in the bud before we had a cat-astrophe,” the police department states.

The cat was quickly rescued from the drain, and a passerby offered to take care of it.

“We recommended she whisker away to the vet. All in a days work, but we were feline pretty good about it,” the release adds.
