BOILING SPRING LAKES, N.C. (WECT) – Crews responded to a fire in Boiling Spring Lakes Thursday night, Aug. 29, that began in a vehicle before spreading to a home and another vehicle, according to authorities.
Per Boiling Spring Lakes Fire Rescue, crews were dispatched just before 9:45 p.m.
“As units responded, updates continued to pour in, prompting the requested for a full structure fire response be dispatched by the first in officer,” BSLFR states.
On arrival, firefighters found one vehicle fully engulfed in flames as well as a second vehicle and the house on fire.
“Thanks the the efforts of the first in engine crew, a quick hit was made and a bulk of the fire was knocked down quickly, allowing additional resources to arrive and complete the extinguishment,” the release explains. “The quick and precise actions of the first arriving engine and crew highlights how training and experience can pay off as well, as the first attack line stopped the spread of the fire immediately and then began Stabilization of the remaining incident.”
Authorities say damage to the house was minimal but the first vehicle is a total loss; the second vehicle can be repaired.
“Crews operated for roughly 2 hours between the incident and clean up. All units were back in service before the change to the new day. Thanks as always to our mutual aid partners that were ready to respond and assist without hesitation,” BSLFR adds.
