Road reopened after high-impact crash in Southport

SOUTHPORT, N.C. (WECT) – A road has reopened following a crash in Southport.

According to the Southport Police Department, the crash happened at the intersection of Southport Supply Road and J. Swain Boulevard around 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 2.

Southport Police Chief Todd Coring said the roadway was blocked while emergency services responded to the crash.

As of 1:08 p.m., the road has been cleared and has reopened in both directions.

Coring said there are injuries.

It is unknown at this time how many vehicles were involved in the crash and how many people were injured.
