Town of Oak Island to hold relief concert for western NC

OAK ISLAND, N.C. (WECT) – The Town of Oak Island is holding a ‘Banding Together: Relief for Western NC’ concert and donation event on Sunday, Nov. 3 in the Middleton Park Complex.

The event is a town and community partner effort to provide relief aid to victims of Hurricane Helene, specifically in the Town of Spruce Pine and surrounding areas.

Donation collection begins at 10 a.m. and you can drop off at the location on E Dolphin Drive that can be found here. Traffic will flow in one direction from SE 46th St. along E Dolphin Dr. You can also donate online.

Items that are needed can be found on the event’s Needs List. Donations need to be visually inspected and sorted so do not bring items in dark bags or closed boxes (i.e. black garbage bags).

Live music and food will be provided from noon to 5 p.m.
