NEW HANOVER COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – Three men were arrested in New Hanover County in a drug trafficking case involving a Colombian National Drug Trafficking Organization, according to the county sheriff’s office.
Per the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, it and Homeland Security Investigations worked together in the case, which led to the execution of a search warrant at a home in the 4000 block of Fairlawn Drive in Wilmington.
The Sheriff’s Office confirms each man has an ICE detainer, which means Immigration and Customs Enforcement is looking into whether they should be deported.
“During the search detectives discovered clothing with odd shaped logos. Upon further investigating, the apparel contained cocaine concealed within the shirts. Over 1 1/2 kilograms (approximately 1700 grams) of cocaine was seized. This investigation disrupted a local Columbian National Drug Trafficking Organization which led to the arrest of, Diego Falla Dussan, Christian Mauricio Villarreal, and Juan Camilo Puentes. All are being held in the New Hanover County Detention Facility for trafficking related drug offenses,” the release states.
34-year-old Diego Armando Dussan, 25-year-old Christian Mauricio Villamizar Villarreal and 23-year-old Juan Camilo Pena Puentes have all been changed with:
- Possession of cocaine
- Trafficking cocaine
- Manufacturing cocaine
Each received a $1,000,500 secured bond.
