WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – The Pointe 14 will host a foster care resource fair on July 6 from 3 to 6 p.m.

New Hanover County Health and Human Services, Lutheran Children’s Services, Children’s Home Society of NC, Restored Souls Foundation and Foster Pantry will attend the fair.

Also, from July 4-7, the theatre will host screenings of Sound of Hope.

Sound of Hope: The story of Possum Trot is a powerful story inspired by Bishop and First Lady Donna Martin, and their tiny Bennett Chapel church, in the town of Possum Trot, Texas. Twenty-two families joined arms to courageously adopt seventy-seven of the most difficult-to-place children in their local foster care system, inspiring a national movement for vulnerable children that continues today. The film is directed by Joshua Weigel, produced by Letitia Wright (Black Panther) and features actors Demetrius Grosse, Kika King and Elizabeth Mitchell,” a Children’s Home Society announcement states.

You can pre-order discounted tickets online here. Some of the proceeds will benefit the Foster Family Alliance.
