OAK ISLAND, N.C. (WECT) – The NC Recreational Water Quality Program announced on Wednesday that a pending swim advisory has been issued at the public beach access at Ocean Drive and Keziah Street in Oak Island.

Per the state, initial tests showed bacteria levels of 124 enterococci. Keziah Street is a street over from the Oak Island Pier, which is at the end of Womble Street.

“Tests of resample collected today will dictate further action,” the announcement states.
