BOLIVIA, N.C. (WECT) – Brunswick County Health Services is offering more drive-thru COVID-19 vaccination clinics this week for those 12 years old or older.

The clinics will offer first and second doses of Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna (mRNA) for everyone ages 12 and up, third doses for the immunocompromised, and booster vaccines for those ages 12 and older, so long as it’s five months or more since their initial series. The one-shot J&J vaccine is also available for anyone 18 and over.

Appointments are not necessary and vaccines are free regardless of insurance. For anyone under 18, only the Pfizer vaccine is currently approved, and masks are required at indoor clinics.

Shallotte area will be served Monday, Jan. 24 – Thursday, Jan. 27 from 9:30 a.m.–11:45 a.m. and 1–3:45 p.m. Also, Friday, Jan. 28 and Saturday, Jan. 29 from 9:30 a.m.–noon. The drive-thru clinic will be hosted at the Coastal Cinemas 10 parking lot at 5200 Bridgers Road. No appointments required.

Brunswick County Health Services will offer a special clinic Thursday, January 27 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at its main health clinic, 25 Courthouse Drive, Bolivia. Advance appointments required. Book a spot online here.

For anyone under 18, a consent form must be completed by a parent or guardian for the clinics to administer any vaccines to anyone 5-15 and boosters for anyone 16-17.

The pediatric vaccine for children ages 5-11 is not available at the pop-up clinics. Parents must make an appointment at Brunswick County Health Services’ main clinic in Bolivia via their website or by calling the Public Health Call Line at 253-2339 on Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
