SOUTHPORT, N.C. (WECT) – The Southport Police Department shared Monday afternoon that two houses were struck by lightning during the storm that passed through earlier in the day.

Nobody was reported hurt, and the homes had minor damage.

“Southport Fire and Police as well as mutual-aid fire units handled both calls,” an SPD announcement states.
