WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – UNCW’s Soaring Seahawk statue moved to the Hoggard Lawn on Wednesday, Aug. 28.

Crews drove the statue over, lifted it with a crane and secured it to its new location.

It was previously located in the middle of the Wagoner Drive traffic circle and installed back in May of 2009, per UNCW.

The move was made to accommodate improvements planned for Wagoner Drive.
