FAIR BLUFF, N.C. (WECT) – Deputies are investigating after a robbery at the Dollar General in Fair Bluff on Sunday, July 21, at around 10 p.m.

Per the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office, deputies talked to an employee who said that a man entered the store and demanded the money from the safe, but he said to the man that he did not have a key to the safe.

After this, the employee gave him about $200 in the cash register and put it on the counter.

“The male then started to grab the money when he saw the automatic doors begin to close and run towards the door but then turned back around and grabbed the rest of the money and fled the store southbound towards Railroad Street,” a CCSO representative said.

The man was about 6 feet tall and wearing a black hoodie, black pants, black shoes, and a black ski mask, according to the sheriff’s office.
