Seahawks soar against Apprentice School, extending three-game winning streak

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – The UNCW women’s team extended its winning streak, winning 103-22 against the Apprentice School on Saturday at Trask Coliseum.
The Seahawks improved to 3-2 on the season and matched their longest winning streak since the 2019-20 season.
Highlights included UNCW’s Ali Zelaya posting her double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds as well as Evan Miller adding 13 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the field.
UNCW set a program record for points scored in the opening quarter and ran a 29-4 lead, with a 32-point second quarter a program record for overall scoring in a quarter.
The Seahawks move on to host Winthrop on Nov. 20 at 7 p.m.
