WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, N.C. (WECT) – Registration is open now for the 10th annual Wrightsville Plunge at the Crystal Pier to raise money for Communities In Schools of the Cape Fear (CIS).

People will gather at noon or 12:30 p.m. on January 1 at the Crystal Pier in Wrightsville Beach to plunge into the cold water.

Registration includes a choice of a hat, beach towel, long- or short-sleeved T-shirt or a tank top.

CIS runs various programs to help at-risk students, including student support specialists to act as case managers for the students, after-school programming, restorative justice programs and more.
