OCEAN ISLE BEACH, N.C. (WECT) – Six teens from Glenn Allen, Virginia, are accused of throwing foods at people in Ocean Isle Beach, according to police.
Per the Ocean Isle Beach Police Department, the teens threw eggs and chocolate sauce from the back of a pickup truck at walkers on an Ocean Isle Beach sidewalk.
One victim came forward stating they were sprayed with chocolate sauce. Several calls were received about eggs being thrown in the same area, but no one else was struck.
“Egging is an Assault,” the OIBPD states on Facebook. “Egging or throwing other substances at someone is a crime. A person egging may be charged with assault, property damage, vandalism, disorderly conduct, and more.”
Ian McKee, Braeden Nicholas Moreno and Quinn Whitehurst, all 18-years-old, have been charged with assault. Juvenile petitions are being sought for the two 17-year-olds involved, and an unnamed 19-year-old is still at large and will be charged.
“The OIB police department takes this activity seriously and will prosecute the suspects to the full extent of the law,” the release adds.
