JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – A much more pleasant day is in store for Fat Tuesday! We are starting off colder with temperatures in the mid and upper 30s and highs will reach the mid and upper 50s this afternoon. We will see plenty of sunshine and much calmer winds!
The next few days will see little change. Afternoon highs will slowly warm back to the mid 60s tomorrow and then the upper 60s and low 70s by Thursday. Clouds will start to increase again on Thursday ahead of our next chance for a few showers on Friday. Friday’s rain looks to be relatively light with totals staying below half an inch across the area. Still, the chance to run into a few raindrops will linger into early Saturday.
Regardless of our low chance of rain, the weekend will not be a washout! In fact, we are looking to dry up late Saturday morning and see a return of sunshine Sunday.
