WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – The Wilmington Planning Commission at its next meeting is set to discuss a proposal to add pickleball courts to the Holly Tree Racquet Club.
The proposal would use two of the existing courts and convert the remaining ones into 10 outdoor pickleball courts, a 28,200 square-feet indoor pickleball facility, a netted golf driving range simulator with 10 tees, and a 1,600 square-foot clubhouse. The expansion will also require removing nearby trees.
During a community meeting on June 18, concerns were raised about stormwater runoff, impacts of tree removal, noise, lighting, traffic, hours of operation, property values, and the club’s structure.
You can find the full meeting agenda on the city’s website.
