BURGAW, N.C. (WECT) – Rizby, an approximately 3-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier, is available for adoption from the Pender County Humane Society.

Staff at the shelter say Rizby loves people, especially children, and enjoys cuddling. He is described as goofy and athletic, and would do best with a family experienced in dog training.

He is up-to-date on his vaccinations, microchipped, neutered and has completed heartworm treatment. Rizby does not get along with cats, and shelter staff are unsure if he enjoys the company of other dogs.

Rizby arrived at the shelter emaciated, weighing just over 40 pounds, but is healthy now and looking for a loving, forever home.
