PENDER COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – Pender County Schools on Aug. 28 dismissed bus driver and basketball coach Melvin London Jr.
London drove for Topsail High, Topsail Middle and Topsail Annandale Elementary.
The dismissal letter claims that Burton refused to drive the older buses because he was a more experienced driver. The letter them claims Superintendent Brad Breedlove told him to drive the older bus and that he refused. This was considered a violation of policies regarding staff responsibilities and assignments, reassignments and transfers.
