PENDER COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – Pender County Schools announced on June 10 that Stephen Harris will be the principal of Penderlea School for the 2024-25 academic year.
“Mr. Harris, who most recently served as Assistant Principal at Rocky Point Elementary, brings a robust background in education to his new role. He completed his undergraduate studies at UNC-Charlotte and earned a Master’s degree from Wingate University. His career spans various educational levels, including elementary, middle, and high school,” a PCS announcement states.
Him and his wife Heather moved from Charlotte to Wilmington recently and he is excited to join the coastal community, per the district.
“Mr. Harris’s commitment to educational excellence is evident through his history of promoting academic achievement and creating nurturing learning environments,” said Dr. Brad Breedlove, superintendent of Pender County Schools. “His leadership as Assistant Principal at Rocky Point Elementary has been instrumental in guiding students to excel both academically and personally.”
Harris enjoys traveling with his wife, the Carolina Panthers and school sports and coaching.
“As Principal, Mr. Harris aims to continue fostering a supportive and dynamic educational environment, ensuring every student at Penderlea School reaches their full potential,” the announcement continues.
