PENDER COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – Novant Health moved patients out of Pender Medical Center while addressing HVAC-related condensation issues, according to a Novant Health representative.

Patients were relocated as a result of the issues, which originally developed around July 13. The center is also undergoing renovations.

The hospital emergency department, imaging, lab, and outpatient surgery remain open to care for patients.

“If any emergency department patients need a hospital admission during this project, we will transfer them to one of our facilities in the region. As a reminder, our location at 7910 U.S. 117 South in Rocky Point also offers outpatient rehab, imaging, primary care and express care services,” a Novant Health spokesperson said.
