Panthers trading star WR to Ravens, sources say
Trade confirmed Wednesday, Oct. 29
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – The Carolina Panthers are trading star wide receiver Diontae Johnson to the Baltimore Ravens, sources told WBTV on Wednesday, Oct. 29.
League sources tell us that Carolina is sending a 2025 6th-round pick and Johnson to Baltimore for a 2025 5th-round pick.
Carolina acquired Johnson via trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers in March; that trade sent a 6th-round draft pick and cornerback Donte Jackson to the Steelers for Johnson and a 7th-round draft pick.
In only seven games with the Panthers, Johnson emerged as the clear-cut No. 1 receiver, totaling 357 receiving yards, 30 catches, and three touchdowns.
If Johnson were to have played in all 17 games for Carolina this year, he would have been on pace to net over 1,000 yards.
