CHADBOURN, N.C. (WECT) – One man is in the hospital after a shooting in Chadbourn early Sunday morning.

According to Mayor Phillip Britt, the shooting happened around 5 a.m. on S. Wilkes St.

Mayor Britt said the victim is in stable condition.

According to the town, the shooting was an isolated incident between two people who knew one another. Mayor Britt said the shooting happened after an argument.

There is no suspect in custody at this time.
