PENDER COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – If you are looking for a new forever friend, you can adopt a cat or dog for free from the Pender County Animal Shelter, according to an announcement on Facebook.

According to the shelter, they do not have any kennels left and are trying to find homes for their animals, who are vaccinated, spayed/neutered, parasite treated, combo tested and microchipped.

“NO COST TO ADOPT – Thanks to amazing donors all our pets are paid for,” the shelter states.

The shelter is open from 1 to 5 p.m. during the week and from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
