NEW HANOVER COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – The New Hanover County Northeast Public Library will host a voter photo ID seminar in preparation for the election from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 20.
Per New Hanover County, the event will discuss photo ID requirements related to voting and is being hosted in partnership between the county and state Board of Elections.
“We are very excited to have an event in conjunction with the State Board of Elections that can help provide guidance and information on the photo ID requirements for individuals who want to cast their ballot this fall,” said New Hanover County Board of Elections Director Rae Hunter-Havens. “This will be a great opportunity to learn more and get information directly from our state officials on what is needed to take part in the democratic process.”
County elections staff will be on site to help people get a NC voter photo ID if they are eligible.
Individuals must be a resident and registered voter in New Hanover County and will need to complete paperwork as part of the process, and many participants can get a photo ID on the same day.
