BLADEN COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – A former Bladen County Schools bus driver recently received eight more sex crime charges, according to the county sheriff’s office.
Per the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office, the new charges are a result of new victims coming forward in the case. 64-year-old David Earl Denkins, of Tar Heel, was terminated by the school system in April after being accused of several sex offenses involving children.
The new charges against Denkins are:
- Two counts of first degree rape
- Four counts of first degree sex offense
- Two counts of indecent liberties with a child
He has been previously charged with:
- 11 counts of felony taking indecent liberties with a student by school personnel other than a teacher, school administrator, student teacher, school safety officer or coach
- 11 counts of felony indecent liberties with a child
- 11 counts of misdemeanor sexual battery
- 11 counts of misdemeanor child abuse
With the new charges, Denkins received an additional $3 million secured bond.
