SOUTHPORT, N.C. (WECT) – N Howe Street was closed between Nash and W West streets because of a power pole fire Wednesday afternoon.

BEMC and the Southport Police Department and Fire Department cleared the scene as of 5:15 p.m.

Nobody was hurt, and power has been restored to people who lost power.
