RIEGELWOOD, N.C. (WECT) – The medical examiner’s office’s report indicates that the two people found dead in Riegelwood last year died accidentally.
47-year-old Henry Lamont Webb from Riegelwood and 37-year-old Keshia Tenae Sanders from Leland were found dead on Sept. 1, 2023, in an outbuilding on Fertilizer Road.
The summary says that a neighbor walking their dog heard a car running in the garage, went into the garage and found the two people in the garage nonconscious. They turned off the car, opened the doors to the garage and called 911.
The investigative report says that both victims died due to “inhalation of products of combustion,” and lists cocaine intoxication as a contributing condition.
Cocaine was found in the car, Webb’s pants pockets and on the ground near the car, per the report, and there was no known relationship between them.
The report notes that the garage is “well known to LEO and to the neighbor as a place where people come to engage in sexual intercourse and to use illegal substances.”
