COLUMBUS COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – Terrance Jujuan Bordeaux, the man charged in a deadly crash that claimed the lives of two children on April 5, 2023, pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree murder on June 10, 2024.
Per the crash report, Bordeaux was driving on SR 1700, crossed the centerline, and overcorrected, running off the shoulder, flipping the car, and coming to rest in a ditch. 8-year-old Terrance Bordeaux Jr. and 10-month-old Joseth Hyatt died due to the crash. Bordeaux Sr.’s daughter was also in the car, but she survived. All three children were restrained with car seats and/or seatbelts.
Trooper C.B. Capps with State Highway Patrol says speed was a factor in the crash.
Bordeaux Sr. was sentenced to 94 to 125 months in active prison. The case has been closed, per District Attorney Jon David.
