Man arrested after police recover stolen firearms during breaking and entering investigation

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – A man was arrested for charges involving breaking and entering a motor vehicle on Wednesday afternoon after authorities searched a home on the 400 block of Swann Street.

Police stated that several stolen items from the residence, including some stolen firearms.

“Over the past several weeks the WPD has seen an uptick in vehicle breaking and entering cases, in addition to motor vehicle thefts. Our detectives have investigated several incidents where firearms have been stolen during vehicle B&E’s. The WPD Criminal Investigation Division has spent countless hours working to solve these cases to get those responsible off of the streets,” WPD wrote in a press release.

23-year-old Antoine Anderson of Wilmington has been charged with breaking or entering motor vehicle, obtain property false pretense, and felony possession of stolen goods/property.

He is being held under a $12,500 secure bond. More charges are expected, including charges against a juvenile.
