Funeral arrangements announced for the victim of Monday’s shooting

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Funeral arrangements have been announced for Levern Shawn Grady who died after being shot twice in the stomach Monday afternoon in Wilmington.

The services will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, May 23 at the ILA Hall, 1305 South 5th Street, Wilmington.

The burial will be in the Summerville Church Cemetery, Leland, NC.

According to New Hanover County dispatch, the 911 center received a report of shots fired in the 100 block of Montgomery Ave. at 1:15 p.m.

The victim — Shawn Levern Grady, 50 — was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center where, police say, he died from his injuries.

Two brothers, Andre Devaughn Huckabee and Edward Demorris Huckabee, have been charged with first-degree murder.
