WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – The Wilmington Police Department is investigating a double stabbing Monday afternoon.
According to a news release, officers responded to the 300 block of South 14th Street around 2:30 p.m. after receiving a report of a stabbing.
Police found a 59-year-old man who was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center for treatment. It’s unclear what his current status is or how severe his injuries were.
While officers were investigating, a 40-year-old man approached and said he had also been stabbed. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
“It appears to be an isolated incident and possibly the result of a family dispute,” the release stated.
No other details have been released at this time. Police say the case is still under investigation.
