UNCW suspends basketball program

By WECT Staff | January 2, 2021 at 12:55 PM EST – Updated January 3 at 9:33 AM

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – The University of North Carolina Wilmington is suspending all of its men’s basketball programs due to COVID-19, postponing two games.

“UNCW will pause all men’s basketball team activities after a positive Covid-19 test result by a Tier 1 member of the program. Due to this, UNCW’s two games vs. Drexel in Philadephia have been postponed,” according to a statement from the school.

“The CAA will announce any further adjustments to UNCW’s conference schedule once they are finalized, including rescheduled dates for postponed games,” the release concludes.
