BRUNSWICK COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – Two people wanted for a robbery in the Leland area Sunday are now in custody in New Hanover County.

Deputies arrested Mizzak Jaazziel Cotton, 33 from Wilmington, and Rebecah Sybille Elis, 19 from Wilmington, Monday afternoon.

The two are accused of stealing a 2008 white Chrysler Sebring around 8:30 Sunday morning on Green Loop Road in Leland. It turns out the pair are accused of committing this crime only hours after being released from the Brunswick County detention center on a different matter. According to deputies, both were picked up by Navassa police Saturday on unrelated charges, but later released from custody.
