Nigel Underhill turned himself into authorities over the weekend

LONGWOOD, N.C. (WECT) – UPDATE: Nigel Underhill has turned himself into authorities, according to the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page early Sunday morning. He is being held without bond in the Brunswick County Detention Facility.
The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office had asked for the public’s help in locating a man wanted for murder in connection to a fatal shooting in the Longwood community early Wednesday morning.
Nigel Underhill, 20, of Freedom Star Road in Longwood, was wanted for first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon, according to a Facebook post from the sheriff’s department.
According to a news release, the victim, 53-year-old Bryan Lex Traywick of Sunset Beach, was found dead on Carlon Road around 1 a.m. Traywick had suffered an apparent gunshot wound to his chest.
Underhill is described as 5′5″ tall, weighing 109 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
He has a tattoo of a cross on his forehead, a tattoo of a teardrop below his right eye, and a tattoo on his left arm of the name “Annie.” He also has a scar on his right cheek.
Investigators offered a $2,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for the homicide. However, thanks to a donation from the family of the victim of a murder in 2016, the reward had been increased to $5,000.
