WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Residents in Brunswick County won’t see any new faces representing them on the Board of Commissioners next year if the unofficial results of the election hold true.
All three seats on the Brunswick County Board of Commissioners will likely remain in the hands of incumbents Pat Sykes(R), Mike Forte (R), and Frank Williams(R). Williams and Forte both ran unopposed in their respective districts while Sykes, faced democratic challenger Bill Flythe.
Unofficial results, that is, results that have not yet been certified by the Board of Elections, show Skyes taking a lead with 64.70 % of the votes compared to Flythe’s 35.30%.

Three seats on the Board of Education were up for grabs, incumbent Ed Lemon (R) for District 1 ran unopposed, David Robinson (R) took 61% of the votes for District 2, and Steven Barger (R) also ran unopposed in District 4.
