BRUNSWICK COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – A Leland man was killed following a crash in Brunswick County Thursday morning.

According to the Highway Patrol, Lee Wilson Hauser Junior, 45, was traveling east on U.S. 74/76 between Wilmington and Leland when his truck ran off the roadway, struck a construction sign, and then hit two large trees.

Hauser, who was wearing a seat belt, died at the scene.

Troopers say they found no evidence of braking, and neither alcohol or speed were factors in the crash.
