Fill up ‘Big-Hearted Bins’ for seniors, shelter pets this holiday season

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Pick up a few items the next time you shop to help the elderly in our community.

Old Time Pottery added what it calls “Big-Hearted Bins” to its nearly 40 stores, including the location in Wilmington.

The bins will help to support seniors and pets throughout the holiday season.

Old Time Pottery partnered with Pets for the Elderly and over dozens of senior living facilities to help make a difference in the lives of seniors and shelter animals.

Pets for the Elderly is a non-profit organization that matches shelter animals with seniors.

Each Old Time Pottery store will fill the Big-Hearted Bins with essential supplies and Christmas décor items, which will be donated to local senior living facilities.

“There are a few ways people can help,” said Colby Swann, Vice President of Marketing at Old Time Pottery. “Come into our store and we will give you a discount on items for these bins and you’ll buy these items and we will donate them on your behalf to senior centers and Pets for the Elderly.”
