WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Crews were able to quickly extinguish a fire at the Boathouse Restaurant in Wilmington on Friday.
The fire was first reported to 911 at 10:24 a.m.
“At this point, the fire is out and there are no injuries. Crews remain on scene for overhaul,” the Wilmington Fire Department said in a tweet just before 11 a.m.
Employees told WECT that it was a hood fire – and no one even realized the building was on fire until someone took the trash out and saw flames shooting from the roof.
