SOUTHPORT, N.C. (WECT) – A wreck at the intersection of Moore and Rhett streets in Southport caused power lines to be knocked down and sparked a fire Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Southport Police Department, about 130 people were without power for several hours after the wreck.
While power was restored Tuesday night, officials say that internet and cable service in the area were still interrupted due to equipment damaged in the fire.
