Survivor of Brunswick Co. tornado reflects on tragedy at Cape Fear Strong Blood Drive

OCEAN ISLE BEACH, N.C. (WECT) – All appointments are booked for the Cape Fear Strong Blood Drive being held Thursday to honor the first responders, residents, and families impacted by February’s devastating tornado.

Volunteers and Red Cross staff are operating the blood drive at Saint Luke Lutheran Church in Ocean Isle Beach until 6 p.m. Thursday.

Three people died in the Ocean Ridge Plantation neighborhood just a mile from the site of the blood drive.

The American Red Cross is following strict sanitation and social distancing protocols in accordance with recommended state and CDC guidelines.
