Citizen declares ownership of emergency beach access, Town of Sunset Beach investigates

The Town of Sunset Beach is encouraging residents to avoid the East End Emergency Beach Access for the time being.

SUNSET BEACH, N.C. (WECT) – The Town of Sunset Beach is encouraging residents to avoid the East End Emergency Beach Access for the time being.

A private citizen has declared ownership of the land and has blocked the easement.

“The Town is investigating and is seeking legal guidance on how to best address the situation,” officials wrote in a post on Facebook.
