Carolina Beach police investigate bank robbery

CAROLINA BEACH, N.C. (WECT) – The Carolina Beach Police Department is searching for a suspect following a bank robbery Tuesday morning.

According to officials, the robbery happened at the First Citizens bank located at 612 North Lake Park Boulevard around 11:30 a.m.

The masked suspect entered the bank and handed a teller a green bag, demanding money. After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, he then jumped into the passenger side of a dark, four-door compact SUV and fled the area northbound toward Snow’s Cut Bridge.

The suspect, described as a middle-aged man, was wearing a dark ball cap with the word “CAT” on the front hat, a dark shirt with orange lettering, faded blue jeans, and gray athletic shoes.

No injuries were reported.
